“Ch. Enchant Wisecracker Bell” – BOB called “Bella”

It’s a great honour for any OES owner when his or her dog is placed at the Euro OES Show, the meanwhile largest OES show on the continent. But it’s the absolutely greatest honor when the owner is also the breeder. This most wonderful, personal success is the result of a few very important things.
To be successful in breeding there are two very important factors involved: the sire and the dam. Firstly, I'd like to thank the well-known American breeder Jeré Marder. It is from her that I got "Ch. Lambluv's Sound of Music" (Trapper), the sire of my bitch. He is excellent at passing on his traits as has been proven with various other bitches. This is the first part.
The second part is the mother „Enchant Queen of Hearts“ (Queeny). She was bred along the well-known Zottel's line from Christina Bailey while always going back to my first bitch „Ch. Nuschka vom Riedring“ which was a very good combination. That this combination harmonized is seen in the fantastic placing of Bella's half-sister „Enchant X-Piece of Luck“ (called IXI - 2nd Place Junior Class), out of the combination „Enchant Queen of Hearts“ x „Ch. Enchant Stargazer Blue“ (Trapper's son).
These two achievements were for me confirmation of my breeding efforts.

I got my first OES bitch „Ch. Nuschka vom Riedring“ in 1975. She had a litter in 1979 from the American top dog „Ch. Ellenglaze Ladies Choice“. Her lines were from the famous Baucottblue Boy, with Rollingsea, Prospectblue and Fernville ancestors. She was the foundation bitch of my kennel. I've not had very many litters in the 27 years since my first litter. There have been exactly 24 litters which surely isn't a lot over such a long time span. But still there were very many Champion and winning dogs from my small kennel. Therewere a lot of beautiful dogs coming from my kennel, but unfortunately there were no owners in Austria willing to show. I've always tried to breed back to my first bitch and to improve the breed with each mating as no dog is perfect. Crucial for me is the quality of the breed and not the quantity.
The achievements at the Euro OES Shows that I have attended speak for themselves:
In 1997 my male „Ch. Enchant Happy Heartbreaker“ (Happy), Austria's top show dog all breeds in 1994, competed for Best Male at the age of 6 years at the Euro Show in Germany. It's a great joy for me still today to read the critique from Gwen Mogford which closes with the words "He is an asset to the breed". The winner was then the magnificent Danish dog „Danish Delight Dutch Joker“. Then at the 2001 Euro Show in Valtice/CZ my male „Enchant Stargazer Blue“ (Blue) – out of the first litter sired by „Trapper“ – was awarded „Best Junior“ (Judge: R. Wilkinson). The following year was the Euro OES 2002 in Kulmbach, Germany. Here „Blue“ received an honorable 2nd place (Judge: J.Swatkins) in the Open Dog Class. Unfortunately we were unable to attend the Euro Show in 2003 and 2005 but 2004 in Sursee, Switzerland, “Blue” was awarded 2nd place (Judge: L. Small) in the Champion Class.
But back to „Ch. Wisecracker Bell“ known as „Bella“.

The first to recognize “Bella's” qualities was our dear Jilly Bennett. Under Jilly she gained her first award as Best Puppy.
Things continued with the first major success at the Euro-Dog Show in Tulln, Austria (Judge: M. Kavcic) with “European Junior Winner“. There followed many first places under well-known OES judges such as Pamela Tomes, Michaela Hall, Davor Javor and many others. A very special win for “Bella” came in February when she went BOB at the DOESC Club Show in Warburg, Germany, judged by the widely known breed specialist Barrie Croft.
And then BOB at the Euro Show 2006 in Volta Mantovana/I! Oh, it was just fantastic !!!

I would like to thank all the judges that thought so highly of my "Bella". I hope every breeder and exhibitor gets to experience that lovely feeling of having your breeding efforts acknowledged by success. Many, many thanks !!!
It was wonderful receiving the many congratulations from all those in the world-wide OES community that shared my happiness in “Bella's” achievement.
