THE OLD ENGLISH SHEEPDOG CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
7th August 2005
judge: Mrs Irene Crane-Duplock (MIRENE) |
I would first of all like to thank the committee for asking me to officiate at this show. Thanks also to my stewards Lynn and Jill who did a fine job.
Thanks also for making my mum welcome and providing a lovely lunch for us all.
I am quite worried at the lack of quality amongst our breed, mainly in the dogs. The depth of brisket and spring of rib is lacking in quite a lot of the
males and the hind angulation also has gone. There were a lot of dirty teeth out there but on the whole the mouths were good. I was delighted with my
principle winners and wish every exhibitor continued success.
Minor puppy dog: (1) 1st Mellowdee Polar Ice of Solentbears - Just 6 months old, moved steady. Good eyes and mouth. Just needs time.
Puppy dog (3) 1st Beauvallon Bounty Hunter at Simplyblue - Lovely cobby dog with good deep brisket. Short muzzle and good head properties.
Excellent bone. Good strong low set hocks and good angulation this showed when he was on the move. BPD
2nd Zottels Jonny Walker - Good brisket excellent bone. Good head and eyes. Moved steady and just needs time to settle.
3rd Beauvallon Barnstormer.

nice wall eye. Mouth correct. Good thick jacket Nice low set hocks. Moved well. One to watch for the future.
2nd Molyneux Magic Moments - Good head, eyes and mouth. Good reach of neck. Jacket good texture and colour. Moved a little close behind and I
would have like a little more drive. Not as good angulation at rear as 1st place.
Post Graduate Dog (3) 1st Zottels Hot Favourite - Nice young man with excellent jacket. Good head properties with nice square jaw. Correct rise, good
strong hocks. Moved with drive, has lost just a little coat at the moment but I am sure he will do very well in the future.
2nd Valleydell Gigolo - Would not settle to-day on the move - think he had his eye on the ladies - Good square sound dog with lovely broad rear
end, nice low set hocks which he uses well on the move. Well muscled. Jacket is of excellent quality and colour. Another one for the future.
