First may I say a big thank you to all the committee for running the show run so well.
My day in the ring was made extra easy by excellent stewards. I think the venue is first-class. It has been many years
since I have judged in this country and most of the dogs had good bone; eyes were dark and well pigmented. On the whole,
though, I think the breed has gone downhill. So many had weak back ends, level toplines and cow hocks making for really
bad movement. These dogs are supposed to be able to do a good day`s work. So you, top breeders, please think about
our fabulous breed. It`s not just a dog show and a beauty parade, even though they need to be clean and well
presented. And to the exhibitor who told me after the show that her dog had never been beaten, I think if she`d
given the dog a good clean and taken the knots out of the coat, it would have helped.
